It was another month of increased recoveries for Bondora. Total recoveries came in at 47,160 in December, up by 6.3% compared to November. Recoveries in each stage and across all countries were higher, with no category bucking the trend. The most significant increase was default and court recoveries, which were higher by 9.4%.
Cash recoveries turnaround
Unlike last month, cash recoveries increased along with the total number of payments recovered, bringing the average payment recovery higher. In December, €490,352 in total was recovered, marking a 15.0% increase from last month. This brought the average missed payment recovered up to €10.40 from €9.61 in November.
Yearly Recovery Rate
The year ended with the 2019 recovery rate at 56.4%. The recovery rate for 2017 stands at 32.7%. The cumulative recovery rate also fell by less than 1% to 43.0% to end the year.
Recoveries by Country
The Estonian recovery rate for 2019 rose by about 1% to 56.9%. Meanwhile, the recovery rate in Finland decreased to 52.6% from 60.0% last month. All recovery rates for the previous three years were lower by about 1% or less.
Cash and recoveries ride higher
Recoveries grew for the third straight month, this time bringing with them more cash recovered. The average payment recovery grew back above €10, and recovery rates, while lower, did not take any unexpected decline.
