Today is our support superstar Kairi’s birthday and we thought it might be nice to introduce her to you. Kairi is the person behind answering your queries and working alongside our engineering team to make your investing experience with Bondora as straightforward as possible. We asked her a few questions about the rewards and challenges of her daily work and about her super power.
How long have you been working at Bondora?
I joined Bondora in October 2013. Over the 2,5 years I’ve held various positions in the company from analyst to operations specialist. Since November last year, after our restructuring, I am fully dedicated to investors. All these experiences have given me an in depth understanding of how our platform functions, what the concerns are and how to efficiently solve issues.
What is your super power and why?
That’s tricky! I would say that I am quite a super optimist or „hopeless optimist“ as we say in Estonian – but I am down-to-earth at the same time. I believe that almost every problem in most cases has a solution, we just need to put enough effort into solving the puzzle and be optimistic. Here’s a famous quote that illustrates my thoughts: „Fill what’s empty. Empty what’s full. And scratch where it itches.“ – Alice Roosevelt Longworth.
What do you bring to Bondora investor support?
People usually do not tend to write to support without a reason and in most cases it is some sort of concern that needs to be solved – and that is why I am here for. I am trying my best to help our investors to make sure everything runs smoothly for them. Here I feel that my work is valuable and for me a satisfied investor is the best feedback that reflects pretty well if I have played my part right.
Investors are welcome to write even if there isn’t any specific problem – just to give feedback on how we have been doing and send us improvement ideas. Or just say “Hi” to boost our investor team’s morale.
Are you an investor yourself?
I have my little investing portfolio in Bondora but I have also tested other P2P platforms. What I like most about Bondora is that it allows me to make small investments – starting from 5€ per application and the system is easy to understand. This allows almost anyone to become an investor on Bondora whether you are a novice or a more sophisticated investor.
What do you do in your free time?
I went back to school last fall and started studying again. I already have my BA in Linguistics but wanted to get more technical, so I started studying IT development. The truth is that it is quite a challenge to work in a FinTech company without knowing how to code. So far I am really satisfied with my choice and hope this enhances the quality level of the support I provide at Bondora.
Other than that I love travelling – whenever possible I take my backpack and go. Needless to say, it is really refreshing to take a break from the everyday rush a couple of times a year, charge batteries and return with an updated version of me.
